Scott
W. Spradley is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation
department. Scott’s practice includes the representation of both
businesses and individuals in all of Florida’s state, federal
and bankruptcy courts. Scott’s state and federal practice
includes the representation of clients involved in a variety of
business disputes including business torts, breach of contract,
landlord/tenant issues, complex civil litigation and creditors’
rights.
In the area of creditors’ rights, Scott represents clients in
pre-litigation workouts; litigation matters through the entry of
judgment; and in post-judgment activities whose focus is to
locate and seize assets in satisfaction of a judgment.
A significant amount of Scott’s practice is devoted to the
representation of clients in the bankruptcy arena, in which
Scott represents secured and unsecured creditors, bankruptcy
trustees, and also corporate and individual debtors requiring
bankruptcy protection. Scott also represents numerous local
businesses and individuals who are creditors of debtors who have
filed for bankruptcy in states outside of Florida, including
Delaware and New York.
In addition to being admitted to practice in all of Florida’s
state courts, including the Florida Supreme Court, Scott is
admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts and the U.S.
Bankruptcy Courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts
of Florida.
Scott is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the
American Bankruptcy Institute, and is a member and director of
the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association. Scott is an
Adjunct Faculty member of Valencia Community College and is
currently the instructor of a course entitled: “Debtor and
Creditor Rights and Bankruptcy”.
Scott is a native of Shelby, North Carolina, and attended the
University of Miami on a golf scholarship. Scott received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science
(with honors) from Florida State University. Scott received his
law degree from the Florida State University College of Law.
Scott is married to Susan Tassell Spradley, and is the proud
father of their daughter, Alyson. In his spare time, Scott
enjoys kayak fishing and spending time with his family at the
beach.
